Hiya,
This update is from a girl called Emmah who went through the Seed of Hope training school and became an employee of Johari following her graduation.
Cheers,

Emmah Makugu
My name is Emmah Makungu. I am a girl aged seventeen and a half years from Vihiga district of Western Kenya. I have seven brothers and sisters and I am the sixth born.I joined Seed of Hope in January 2005. there I found caring and friendly people. Within a short time I was able to make progress in the vocational skills, where I was learning dressmaking and also life-skills. At seed of Hope, all of this is offered freely to orphaned and disadvantage girls.
I went for attachment for six weeks in October 2006 and then the time came for me to graduate. The celebration took place on 27th November 2006. I really enjoyed this day but I was stressed afterwards as I began to think about opening my own business. Fortunately I was chosen as one of two lucky girls who were offered employment in Johari.
For now I am trying to save some money so as to start my business and make it grow. I have hope and I want to make it like other Seed of Hope graduates so that I can be independent.
I would not have made it without my teachers at Seed of Hope, they really love and take care of me.
Thank you!
